What’s an air source heat pump?
With the way energy prices are going, it’s no wonder people are looking for alternatives to heat their homes. Air source heat pumps work like a fridge, but in reverse. They draw in energy from the air outside, and then use it to heat your home and provide hot water. They’re a sustainable heat source and still work at temperatures as low as -15°C, and can save more than £1300 over the course of the year compared to storage heaters and LPG boilers.
How much do they cost?
Although there is an initial installation cost, you can apply for financial support to help with the cost. Under the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive, you can apply for grants and get money towards the installation. If you receive government benefits, you may also qualify for additional support through the ECO4 scheme. If you’d like to check, speak to Eco Subs and we can let you know.
